Service Description

THE DOORS OF PERCEPTION: Form and Practice This class will give alumni artists a chance to generate, revise, and workshop material in order to improve their skills of perceiving space critically. The concentration of the class will be on workshopping and generative activities based on exploring modalities of perception, as well as a focused reading of a small number of contemporary and critically lauded texts (primarily by renown artists). Artists will produce new work (and/or substantially revise existing work). Artists are welcome to bring in previously reworked material for class, so long as they are open to revising and reshaping it. The majority of the class will be on executing and exercising the use of particular techniques and/or mediums, however students will have the time and chance to bring in their own studio work to be critiqued by other artists in the class and reciprocate at the end of class.
